Hair transplant surgery is best for men and women who are experiencing natural hair loss, but may prove useful under a variety of situations. Hair for the procedure is typically taken from the back of the head, but other donor sites are possible as well.
In many cases, results can be achieved with a single surgery, but patients who have experienced significant hair loss may need to undergo more than one transplant. Hair transplant surgery can be performed under both local and twilight sedation. This helps ensure optimal comfort during the procedure. Some tightness, soreness, and discomfort may be present during the first few days of recovery. Over the counter medications are typically sufficient to deal with these issues.
Most people are able to resume work within two to five days, but some restrictions regarding bathing and other activities will remain in place for a bit longer. We will work directly with you during this time to make sure you understand when it is safe to resume all normal activities.
Bear in mind, it may take several months for full growth to take place, but some fullness will start to return long before.
