Exercise is an important part of many people’s daily routines. Regular physical activity not only improves your health but also helps you maintain your figure. These benefits explain why many breast augmentation patients are eager to resume their normal workouts, including running, after surgery.

EXERCISING AFTER BREAST ENHANCEMENT

It is important to give your body time to rest and heal after undergoing breast augmentation. You will not be able to perform any strenuous activities at first.

Instead, focus on walking and engaging in gentle movements. This will promote a swift recovery by increasing blood flow and preventing stiffness. Early ambulation also releases endorphins, which are chemicals that improve your mood and ease discomfort. On top of the physical benefits, moving around after surgery can help you feel independent and bring a sense of normalcy to your recovery.

After a few weeks, most breast enhancement patients can engage in light exercise. You may be cleared for low-intensity and low-impact movements such as walking on a treadmill. Continue to avoid strenuous physical activities, even if you feel capable of performing them. You may run into issues if you overexert yourself during this time.

Full breast augmentation recovery generally happens after about six to eight weeks, at which point activities like running are appropriate. However, every woman is different, and this timing can vary depending on how quickly your body heals. It is essential to listen to Dr. Miller’s instructions about resuming exercise and normal activity.

Remember to wear a bra with proper support when you work out. It will help minimize the impact of physical activity on your healing scars. Fortunately, implants should not hinder you from having an active lifestyle.
